SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES Receives New Order for Thin-Film Solar Technology
- SINGULUS establishes itself as a development partner for new thin-film
cell concepts
- Order from international module producer received
Kahl am Main, February 17, 2012 - The SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES AG (SINGULUS)
reports the sale of a processing machine for the production of CIGS/CIS
thin-film solar cells. The coating plant was ordered by an international
thin-film solar manufacturer and will be utilized for the set-up of a pilot
production of CIGS/CIS modules. After the successful commissioning a
further expansion of the module production is intended. Hence, the SINGULUS
system meets the current demand in the photovoltaics industry for
development and pilot machines to increase the efficiency of solar cells
and to simultaneously reduce the production costs. The CIGS production
process, which continues to establish itself more and more and which is
based on a semi-conductor layer composed of copper, indium, gallium,
sulfur, and selenium (CIGS), is regarded as a promising PV technology with
respect to efficiency and cost reductions.
The new order is an additional important step for SINGULUS to establish
itself as a machine supplier and development partner in the growing
thin-film solar market.
