P? awarded metro project in Panama
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - P?RY PLC Press release 28 January 2010 at 10.20 a.m.P? has been awarded the technical support contract for construction of thefirst metro line in Panama. The scope of services includes planning, technicalfeasibility and cost estimation of the project. The value of P?'s services isEUR 1.1 million.The project was initiated by the Panama Government, whose primary goal isconstruction of a secure, efficient and comfortable public transportationsystem. The recently founded department "Secretar?del Metro de Panam?" will beresponsible for planning, building and operating the Panama Metro. The projectis financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (BID) and Cooperation Andinade Fomento (CAF).The project will be carried out in cooperation with Geoconsult S.A. and C&MAsociados, S.C. P?'s services cover planning of the project, analysis of theactual demand data, conceptual design of the first metro line, technicalspecifications for bid requests and support to the client during selection ofthe contractor.
