HudBay Minerals Aligns All Operations Under Hudbay Brand to Support Growth and Expansion

("Hudbay") (TSX: HBM)(NYSE: HBM) today announced it is uniting all of its operations under the Hudbay brand to better position itself for continued growth and expansion. At a special event and webcast for the company's nearly 1,500 employees across the Americas, Hudbay President and CEO David Garofalo explained the rationale for consolidating the brand and officially unveiled the company's new visual identity and re-branded website.
"Rather than setting a new course, the Hudbay brand we are sharing with you today reflects the strategic direction we have already been pursuing in recent years," Mr. Garofalo explained. "We are deeply committed to our stable operating base in northern Manitoba, where we have built our strong reputation as a responsible miner and corporate citizen over an impressive 85-year history. At the same time, we are keenly focused on developing new opportunities to capitalize on our established strengths and capabilities in other regions, as evidenced by our Constancia project in Peru and newly-established offices in Colombia and Chile."
By using the same brand across its business, Hudbay expects to drive future success in attracting new partners, investors and skilled and talented workers from around the world. The company believes a consolidated Hudbay brand will facilitate the alignment of new projects and acquisitions, and will strengthen relationships with local communities that are built on trust, transparency and accountability. The brand will also help to promote greater collaboration and the transfer of knowledge, skills and experience from location to location across the organization.
