ProHealth Care of Wisconsin Streamlines Delivery of Patient Data Into Its Epic EMR

ProHealth Care, a regional integrated healthcare system, is leveraging iSirona's connectivity technology to deliver accurate and timely patient data from its anesthesia monitors to its Epic EMR.
iSirona provides a software-based solution that works with the Epic Anesthesia module (part of Epic's OpTime Operating Room Management System) to pull data from anesthesia machines and input that data into the patient record -- without needing any single-use hardware. As a result, clinicians now can focus more of their attention on patient care instead of shifting attention away from the patient to transcribe data.
"Device integration is the necessary conduit between the anesthesia machines and the EMR," says Dr. Ed Mathews, an anesthesiologist at ProHealth Care. "Without a doubt, implementing iSirona's solution means that we can now spend more time monitoring and caring for the patient because the information that we used to transcribe is now downloaded automatically from the anesthesia machine to the EMR, generating an anesthesia record that is more accurate, more legible and, therefore, more credible."
