Midland Valley Exploration Implements FlexNet Operations to Automate Back-Office Processes, Enhance Client Licensing Experience, and Substantially Grow Customer Base Several Times

Midland Valley Exploration is an existing user of , a software licensing solution for software producers. Through the combined use of FlexNet Operations and FlexNet Publisher, the company aims to grow its customer base several times over the next three to five years by offering customized product suites based on flexible licensing.
Midland Valley chose FlexNet Operations for its state-of-the art technology, market leadership in licensing and entitlement management, and proven track record in the oil & gas sector. The company is terminating the use of the incumbent back-end solution in favor of FlexNet Operations.
FlexNet Operations will streamline and automate Midland Valley's back-office processes including license key generation and activation, entitlement management, and reporting -- significantly reducing the administrative burden on the company's existing IT department. Despite the projected increase in the user install base over the next three to five years, the efficiency and time saving delivered by FlexNet Operations will eliminate the requirement for a headcount increase in Midland Valley's IT department. The solution will also enable the company to license software and automatically track usage in virtual environments, a capability Midland Valley did not previously have.

Midland Valley will enhance customers' licensing experience of Move, offering flexibility, facility for online payments and easy re-licensing. The 'customer portal' feature in FlexNet Operations will enable Midland Valley to grant blocks of licenses to organizations via a single activation code, the payment for which will be connected to the company's back-end system. This means that customers will be able to self-manage distribution of licenses and track usage in real-time, eliminating the need to request individual license activation from Midland Valley.
