Soccer AM's Max Rushden demolishes Bryan Berg's playing card structure

Unlike Guy Fawkes and his gang of gunpowder plotters, no secret tip-off stopped television presenter Max Rushden from destroying the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben last night. Rushden, best known for presenting Saturday morning show, Soccer A.M, was given the enviable task of kicking a football directly into Bryan Berg's equivalent playing card structure and officially ending 's Cardstacker Challenge promotion.
Guinness World Record Holder Berg first began precise work building the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben on 15th February, methodically reconstructing London's two famous landmarks out of freestanding standard playing cards, with no aid of tape nor glue. His meticulous precision, coupled with his extraordinary strategic touch, meant the structure of over 50,000 playing cards was completed in only seven days, - during which the public were allowed to view his marvellous creation as it was built live in Stratford's Aspers Casino, London.
However in tribute to the old adage 'what comes up must come down', Berg's creation was publicly destroyed at 7pm last Monday, in what was billed as 'The Knockdown' by Sky Poker. Viewers unable to attend the 'demolition' live at the casino were also able to watch live streaming via Sky Poker's Facebook Page.
As Rushden's forceful shot flew towards the 14 foot wide 7 1/2 foot tall fragile freestanding structure, continuous flashes escaped from the cameras of those in the audience, desperate to capture images of the buildings rapid collapse. Unsurprisingly Rushden seemed pleased with his demolition work, yet one must feel for Berg who had to watch his latest piece tumble before his very eyes.
