The modernised Forum's offering will have a strongeremphasis on fashion and will provide a more versatile range of specialty stores,caf?and restaurants. Citycon will invest EUR 16 million in the project.The redevelopment work will cover the entire shopping centre, but focus on a12,000 square metre section. During the project, the shopping centre's ambiancewill be enhanced and more natural light will be allowed to enter. Internalaccess ways will be improved, for instance, by increasing the number ofescalators and optimising their location.The construction project will begin immediately and the fully modernised Forumwill open its doors in November 2010. Construction work will be conducted instages, since most services remaining in the shopping centre will continue tooperate normally throughout the renovation."Forum benefits from an excellent retail location in the heart of Jyv?yl?between the localbus terminal and the main shopping street. At the moment, theshopping centre attracts some 7 million customers, but its offering and premisesmust be able to meet the needs of today's consumers. The launched modernisationis intended to improve Forum's competitiveness and increase its commercialappeal," states Jukka Posti, Citycon's Property Development Director.Theredevelopment of the Forum shopping centre fulfills Citycon's strategy ofdeveloping centres with excellent locations.
