For reliable application and hygiene: New tapered disposable cuffs from ulrich medical
Tourniquet cuffs with a tapered shape for disposable use are now also available in size XL from ulrich medical, the Ulm family-owned company.
ulrich medical's tapered disposable cuff (XL)(firmenpresse) - At medica 2011, ulrich medical presented its new disposable cuffs for tourniquet applications in sizes S, M and L for the first time. Barely three months later, there is once again news from Ulm: The manufacturer of German tourniquets is now also offering tapered disposable cuffs in size XL.
“Our tapered cuffs are particularly well-suited for patients with ample extremities. This would include obese patients as well as athletes with muscular thighs,” reports sales manager Martina Di Jullo. “The tapered, curved shape of the cuff allows for optimal fit. It distributes the cuff pressure evenly on the tissue and thus creates even occlusion of the deep blood vessels as well.
The tapered XL cuff from the ulrich medical company is particularly narrow. This is an advantage, particularly in the case of surgery on short thighs and at the same time, this protects the patients. A patient symbol added to the cuff allows the cuff to be easily and correctly positioned and thus provides the user with twice the security.
All ulrich medical disposable cuffs are delivered in sterile packaging and thus provide active protection from the transmission of MRSA microbes in the hospital. In this way, they ensure the highest level of hygiene safety and reliability, regardless of hospital and surgical processes. As a disposable product, they reduce the capital equipment budget of the medical facility as well as its CSSD, since no reprocessing is needed. In addition, with regard to contingency planning, disposable cuffs play an important role in hospitals.
The new disposable cuffs as well as ulrich medical’s proven multiuse cuffs are easy to use and come with a Velcro closure. They are available with three different connectors, making them suitable for use on all commercially available tourniquets. The unique color-coding scheme used by ulrich medical allows users to distinguish easily between cuff sizes. The company has also developed its own measuring tape to help medical personnel determine the circumference of an extremity and use this figure to establish the ideal cuff size.
