(NYSE: JEQ), a closed-end management investment company seeking long-term capital appreciation through investment primarily in equity securities issued by companies located in, or deriving revenue from, Japan, announced that the Annual Meeting of Stockholders of the Fund will be held at the offices of Daiwa Capital Markets America Holdings, Inc., Financial Square, 32 Old Slip, 14th Floor, New York, New York 10005-3538, on Monday, June 4, 2012 at 3:45 P.M., New York time. The Fund's Board of Directors has fixed the close of business on March 19, 2012 as the record date for the determination of stockholders entitled to notice of and to vote at the meeting or any adjournments of the meeting.
