Ticket Liquidator Concert Madness Tournament: A Bracket Tournament Featuring Top Summer Tours
(firmenpresse) - SOUTH WINDSOR, CT -- (Marketwire) -- 03/11/12 -- As March Madness draws near, millions of college basketball fans from around the country will be filling out their brackets. The creative team at has designed their own bracket tournament featuring 16 of the top musical acts touring this summer, and fans will get a chance to vote on the acts they are most excited about.
This summer tour season features acts like , , and the . As the bracket tournament progresses, people that like will get a chance to vote for the artist they would rather see live. The winners will then advance to the next round. Matchups will be posted daily beginning on March 13, 2012 on the Ticket Liquidator Facebook page throughout the month.
It was difficult for the Ticket Liquidator team to narrow the field down to the top 16 artists touring this summer, so just like the NCAA Basketball Tournament, the Concert Madness Tournament features four "play in" games to kick off the tournament starting on Tuesday, March 13. The winners of these two matchups will join the other 12 artists already in "The Big Dance." Seeding (rankings used to determine the matchups) for the "Ticket Liquidator Concert Madness Tournament" was determined by which artists received more searches on Google. Top seeds include , , Coldplay and Madonna. Number two seeds include , Iron Maiden, Barbra Streisand, Nickelback and Bush. Number three seeds include the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Ozzy Osbourne and Van Halen.
The first round play-in matchups feature Jason Aldean taking on the Brothers of the Sun with Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw; Fleetwood Mac facing off against the Beach Boys; Barbra Streisand taking on Neil Diamond; and Il Divo taking on Barry Manilow. The play-in matchups will run for two days beginning Tuesday, March 13, after which Ticket Liquidator will announce the complete "Concert Madness" bracket. Then, each weekday will feature a new matchup, and people that "like" Ticket Liquidator's page on Facebook can vote for the acts they'd rather see live.
