Intel qualifies Flash storage modules SATADOM for Romley server boards
Bueckeburg, 12 March 2012 – The Flash storages of the type SATADOM (SATA Disk on Module) are part of the production program of Innodisk, a leading manufacturer of industrial Flash and DRAM storage solutions. These modules have a SATA interface with a 7-pole connector. They can become con-veniently used as system memory for various motherboards. Innodisk now announced that INTEL qualified several products of the SATADOM range for the new Romley server boards.

(firmenpresse) - The series D150QV and D150QV-L became qualified as preferred boot mediums for the SATA port. Providing data transmission rates of up to 135 MB/s (Read) resp. 130 MB/s (Write), these modules are up to 8 times above the corresponding values of conventional USB memories. D150QV and D150QV-L have storage capacities of up to 32 GB resp. 64 GB and dimensions of only 39.4x25x9.5 mm resp. 30x35.5x9.5 mm. Thereby, they belong to the most compact storage solutions that are currently available for the SATA interface. Due to their low height, especially the components of the low-profile version D150QV-L are suitable for usage in 1U and 2U servers. The modules D150QV and D150QV-L are based on SLC NAND Flash and they reach - in connection with diverse SMART functions - especially high values in regards of reliability and durability.
The SLC series SATADOM D150SV and D150SV-L (up to 8 GB) and the MLC series InnoLite SATADOM D150QV (up to 64 MB) are also qualified by INTEL. All SATADOM storages are available in the temperature range standard (0°C to +70°C) and extended (-40°C to +85°C). A special feature is their patented Power Pin 7 design. It allows the supply of a SATADOM storage with auxiliary power without an additional wire.
Beside standard products (with assured BOM), also customer-specific versions (firmware, controller, label) can become delivered. This makes a SATADOM storage the ideal replacement of HDD, SSD and USB storage solutions for the industrial usage.
