The Cloud Continues Its Drive Along the High Street-as Two More Retailers Go for WiFi
- Mamas & Papas Roll-Out WiFi in 60 Stores - Harvey Nichols' WiFi Roll-Out Part of New Digital Strategy - Customer Wins Illustrate Success of the Cloud's Strategy for Major Growth in the Retail Sector
(firmenpresse) - LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwire) -- 03/13/12 -- The Cloud, the UK's largest provider of public access , has announced the successful roll-out of in-store free WiFi at Edinburgh's luxury Harvey Nichols store, as well as a separate nationwide roll-out in Mamas & Papas' 60 branches across the UK.
The announcement follows recent customer wins for The Cloud, including Phones4u, Ted Baker and the M&S pilot as its ongoing strategy for targeting high-street retailers continues apace.
Both retailers undertook the deployment of WiFi to meet in-store consumer expectations and were undertaken as part of their broader digital engagement strategies.
Mamas & Papas will provide free access to customers wanting to relax at their venues and to make the most of the soon to be launched tablet-optimised website, Facebook commerce store and iPhone app, all whilst in-store.
Harvey Nichols will have WiFi available throughout the venue, including the Fourth Floor, which is home to the store's Restaurant, Bar & Brasserie as well as stunning city views.
Commenting on the roll-out, Gemma Hare, Press & Marketing Manager at Harvey Nichols Edinburgh said, "Harvey Nichols is a lifestyle retail store as well as a luxury fashion destination. We want our customers to have the real Harvey Nichols experience, and being able to go online and enjoy the best connection possible is now very much a part of that.
"As well as enabling customers to relax and enjoy browsing the internet in-store, this is part of our strategy to closer align our sales channels: consumers today expect a seamless experience between both the store's online and physical outlets. Having WiFi provides the synergy for these converging customer channels, meaning our customer can engage and interact with us as they prefer."
Staff at both companies will also benefit from being able to get online easily. Harvey Nichols executives are now able to access their work files on their iPads and have meetings in different parts of the building.
Vince Russell, managing director of The Cloud, said, "Today's announcements from two such distinguished, but very different retail companies, perfectly illustrates the growing demand for WiFi right across the retail sector - and The Cloud is determined to continue to be the retailer's choice of public access WiFi."
