Gilching, Munich, 16 March 2012 - ACAZIS AG's Supervisory Board of Directors
appoints Gunnar Janssen of Kronberg, Germany, as a member of the Board of
Directors as Chief Operating Officer as of 1 March 2012.
Gunnar Janssen previously held management positions at various
international investment institutions amongst them names like Deutsche Bank,
Credit Suisse, DLJ, Barclays and most recently as Head of Equities at Silvia
Quandt & Cie AG.
ACAZIS AG is reacting to the significant operational growth of its business and
in particular to the fact that this year foresees the company putting its own
oil-mill back into operation as well as the first revenues being made from
the cultivation of castor beans and peanuts.
"With a lengthy and consolidated experience in the investment banking sector,
Gunnar Janssen's presence in the company will strengthen the management team at
a time when ACAZIS AG's active business operations mean that the company is on
the threshold of significant growth in a short space of time. As a result,
Gunnar Janssen's experience especially with regard to financing and negotiations
with various credit institutions will be ever more relevant," states Patrick
Bigger, Chairman and CEO.
Gunnar Janssen states: "I am thrilled to have been asked to join Acazis AG as
the company's new COO. With the help of Patrick Bigger, the company has
undergone a complete restructuring programme over the last 14 months and has
been put back on the map. I will be doing my utmost to support the CEO and help
drive Acazis AG forward.
Acazis AG's targets for this year, 2012, have been clearly set:
First, to sell the first significant castor harvest to the Chinese market.
Second, to begin with the regular production of edible oil destined for the
Ethiopian market at the Acazis-owned oil mill south of Harar.
These first two targets will guarantee the achievement of the first operating
revenues.
Later on we will aim to sell one remaining asset on the Acazis AG balance
sheet: the over 2000 hectares of eucalyptus wood which will guarantee a harvest
for over a 20-year period.
I am very proud to be part of this exciting venture. The Ethiopian economy is
booming and is currently is the third fastest growing country in the world. This
proves that Acazis AG is in the right place at the right time!"
