Greenvironment to build CCHP-plant in the Sun Plaza shopping mall in Romania
(firmenpresse) - - Microturbine solution unbeatable due to high thermal efficiency, availability and reliability as well as low noise levels, lack of vibrations and SCADA system
- Most efficient solution for heating and air conditioning based on absorption chillers
- Advanced negotiations regarding further 1 MW+ CHP projects
Berlin, 19th March 2012 - Greenvironment Plc (WKN: A1JLT1 / Symbol: GIV1) today announced that a letter of intent (LOI) for a 1.8 MW microturbine plant for natural gas including other additional components as part of a Combined Cooling, Heating and Power (CCHP) system was signed between TAI s.r.l., Greenvironment’s representative agent, and Societate Dezvoltare Comercial Sudului (SDCS) s.r.l., a company that manages real estate on behalf of the owner of the shopping mall property, Sparkassen Immobilien AG, part of Erste Bank Group (Austria).
The CCHP plant will be installed at the Commercial Center building of the Sun Plaza shopping mall (www.sunplaza.ro) in Bucharest, Romania. The installation and commissioning of the plants will be realized together with TAI s.r.l. (www.tai-cepc.ro) and other regional companies from Romania. The plant is scheduled for completion by the end of this year.
With approximately 80,000 square metre of lettable space, Sun Plaza is the largest shopping mall in Romania. It was developed by Sparkassen Immobilien AG (www.simmoag.at). Sun Plaza was opened in February 2010 and comprises of more than 130 shops. The shopping mall also has numerous cafes, a food court with 1,200 seats, a cinema centre, a bowling alley, a nursery school and a sports hall.
Sun Plaza is located in the south of Bucharest, at a place where two main traffic arteries meet- only 10 minutes (5.5 kilometers) from the city center. In addition to direct access to the metro, the mall has an excellent connection to the road network and to numerous forms of public transportation.
In December 2010, Sun Plaza received two CIJ Awards in the categories of “Best Shopping Centre Development” and “Best Overall Development”.
The CCHP plant will be operated by an energy service company (ESCO) that will build, own and operate it. The energy is being sold to the end customer SDCS. This ensures cost reductions regarding the overall energy bill, especially for the heat and cooling production within the shopping mall buildings. Last but not least it also lowers CO2 and NOx emissions.
Mr. Costanda as ESCO representative stated: “The technical and commercial solution that we are offering to our customer is based on the innovative technology and equipment provided by Greenvironment. It is not only satisfying the high efficiency cogeneration norms and standards in Romania but it actually exceeds them.”
“Romania is a very interesting market for Greenvironment. Especially in the field of industrial CHP sales and semi-industrial CCHP sales we now have been able to “break the ice”. We see a strong demand for our solutions and are in advanced negotiations regarding big projects that have very much similar needs compared to Sotchi or Sun Plaza. We are convinced that a microturbine is the best economical decision for a large shopping mall“, stated Matti Malkamäki, CEO of Greenvironment.
