MOCON Inc., Minneapolis is expanding
(PresseBox) - The U.S. manufacturer of test and control systems for packaging materials, packaging and food purchased the Danish PBI Dansensor A/S at a price of roughly 20 million U.S. dollars.
The Danish company mainly manufactures MAP test equipment. MOCON, in Europe represented by Paul Lippke Handels-GmbH, is worldwide market leader in measuring barrier films and packaging. The product lines of both companies hardly intersect with each other. On the contrary, they complement perfectly to assist users in answering questions regarding shelf life of packaged food.
In addition to an even higher expertise in the field of quality control of food packaging and shelf life considerations, customers benefit from a much denser distribution network worldwide. This has a positive effect on the already high quality of the service as well as on support issues regarding questions and special applications.
