Minerva iTVFusion v5.3 incorporates the latest Internet technologies, including Adaptive Bit-Rate (ABR) streaming, Quality of Experience (QoE) monitoring, wireless LAN connectivity, and high-performance embedded browsers, to provide a powerful toolkit for network operators to compete with emerging Over-the-Top (OTT) players. Minerva iTVFusion v5.3 enables two new business opportunities for service providers: Cloud-based Video on Demand (CVoD) and Broadband TV (BBTV). CVoD can "bolt onto" any broadband network either as a standalone service or as add-on service for existing pay-TV customers. With CVoD, for example, service providers offering IPTV services have access to a lower-cost, easier to deploy and more compelling video on demand offering. BBTV enables the service provider to deliver pay-TV services over broadband networks not capable of delivering traditional IPTV.
