Ultra High-Speed Network to Be Used for Research and Education Applications Throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region

This performance validation confirms that Lumos Networks can meet growing customer demand for high-capacity bandwidth on its existing 10G fiber plant simply by deploying 100G line cards in its current Cisco ONS 15454 platforms.



Lumos Networks is a fiber-based service provider in the Mid-Atlantic region serving carrier, business and residential customers over a dense fiber network offering data, voice and IP services. With headquarters in Waynesboro, VA, Lumos Networks serves Virginia, West Virginia and portions of Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Ohio, and Maryland over a 5,800 route-mile fiber network.

Lumos Networks has completed the successful testing of Cisco's 100 Gigabit coherent DWDM technology on the Cisco ONS 15454 platform, proving that its network is ready to support these types of high-speed services.
