MEGADYNE Unveils Next-Generation Interface for Mega Power(R)
Ease of Use Is Maximized by Single Button Activation
(firmenpresse) - NEW ORLEANS, LA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/26/12 -- Megadyne's Mega Power® Electrosurgical Generator is now even easier to use with a new faceplate interface for improved access to all modes. The original generator was designed specifically to be easy to use; this latest version has been further simplified as its push-button functionality now offers intuitive, dedicated buttons to activate each function and mode. Megadyne will showcase the product at booth #3416 during the 2012 Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) Congress in New Orleans this week.
Designed with nurses in mind, the Mega Power offers easy access to nine mode settings in this single unit. Modes include two proven Coag options as well as a Spray Coag. In addition, the Mega Power offers both MACRO and MICRO Bipolar option while incorporating a new easy on, easy off speaker button for the built-in bipolar current meter tone activation.
The Mega Power also offers three Cut modes: A Pure Cut, a Blend Cut, and a proprietary mode for Advanced Cutting Effects, ACE. This special mode has gained recognition for its ability to provide a scalpel-like cutting effect which improves OR safety due to its sharps-free technology. The new Mega Power interface makes identifying and using this mode easier than ever.
The ACE Mode is used in conjunction with the Megadyne ACE Blade® providing a one-stop, multipurpose electrosurgical instrument that is completely sharps free! The ACE Blade is designed to cut skin with minimal thermal damage and easily passes through soft and fibrous tissue. Because it functions as both a scalpel and an electrosurgical pencil, it can completely remove the need for knives on the surgical field, thus NO risk of scalpel injuries. Not passing instruments back and forth makes surgery safer for the surgical team, while providing the best possible outcomes and scar minimization for the patient.
Designed for simplicity and ease of use, the Mega Power offers large, easy to read displays that are highly visible, making it easy for the surgical team to see information, even from a distance. Previous power setting, mode recall and quick-scroll power adjustment features make the generator convenient to use. The Constant Control Technology™ feature automatically monitors tissue impedance and adjusts power output to reduce tissue drag for a clean, accurate cutting effect at the lowest possible settings. This new faceplate interface and related modes make set-up and use easier than ever.
The Mega Power can be used in combination with the Mega Soft® reusable patient electrode, Mega Vac Plus™ Smoke Evacuator system, E-Z Clean® nonstick pencils and tips or with accessories from other manufacturers.
