By optimizing the algorithms, Plixer's more positively identifies nefarious network behaviors. In lieu of triggering immediate alarms, smarter alarms were engineered to monitor behaviors over a few minutes and potentially increase threat indexes. Hosts with higher threat levels, due to numerous alarms, can be quickly identified and isolated, reducing Mean Time to Know (MTTK) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR). Some of these new IPFIX and NetFlow threat detection methods leverage the Cisco ASA NetFlow Exports, as well as flows from firewalls manufactured by SonicWALL and Palo Alto Networks.
