The Haglöfs history begins in 1914 when Victor Haglöf manufactured the first
backpacks. Today, Haglöfs produce more than one million products annually -
backpacks, sleeping bags, clothes and shoes in 19 different markets across
Europe and Japan. Among our most popular products we find the Tight-backpacks,
which have sold in excess of 1.1 million. The interest in the brand is huge and
over the past ten years, our sales have grown by 16% annually. Total sales for
2008, amounted to 495 MSEK (52 mio EURO). In Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland,
Germany and the UK, we operate our own sales companies. In the other markets,
our products are distributed through agents or distributers. Production is
mainly located in Estonia, Poland, Romania, China and Vietnam.
Our fundamental view is that all economic development should be long-term and
fully integrated with social and environmental
aspects. For that reason, all suppliers, and their subcontractors, who work with
Haglöfs must sign a document setting out the rules of social responsibility with
which they must comply.
The majority of Haglöfs' more than 90 employees work in Avesta, where our
central warehouse is located. Since 2001, we are
owned by Ratos, a listed private equity company.
