Edgewater Wireless Announces Bert Whyte's Acceptance to its Board of Directors
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 03/29/12 -- Edgewater Wireless Systems Inc., (TSX VENTURE: YFI) a leading developer and manufacturer of multi-channel 802.11 wireless communications equipment, is pleased to announce that Hubert "Bert" Whyte has agreed to join its board of directors. Mr. Whyte, a 30 year veteran of the telecommunications industry, brings tremendous experience, hand's-on leadership and creative vision to Edgewater Wireless' board.

Mr. Whyte has held a variety of positions during his career, including President and CEO of Network Equipment Technologies (NET) , and President of Advanced Computer Communications (ACC), both of California. Mr. Whyte successfully restructured NET to become a leading player in the emerging broadband and IP voice markets. Prior to this, Mr. Whyte turned ACC into a market leader in IP routing which was eventually acquired by the giant Swedish Telecom company Ericsson for just under US$300M. Mr. Whyte was also one of the early employees of Newbridge Networks Corporation, a company founded by Terry Matthews and subsequently sold to Alcatel. Mr. Whyte has been active in the investment community, and has participated in a number of mergers and acquisitions over his career.
