21st Century Insurance Presented With "2011 School Crossing Guard Partnership Award" From the Seminole County Sheriff's Office

The Seminole County Sheriff's Office recently awarded 21st Century's Lake Mary, Fla., location with its "2011 School Crossing Guard Partnership Award." 21st Century was presented with this honor for its work related to keeping schoolchildren safe through the "21st SafetyZone Traffic Safety Awareness Program."
The 21st SafetyZone Traffic Safety Awareness Program is a community initiative designed to remind drivers to slow down in school zones and to watch out for children and pedestrians. The goal of the program is to prevent speeding and pedestrian accidents in school zones. Employees volunteer to participate in these sign-waving events during the morning rush hour, at schools near busy driving and/or pedestrian crossing areas.

"The traffic slowed and the waving signs were working. School after school, principals were amazed at the change in traffic patterns. One school principal stated that he had tried talking, tried sending notes home, put speed bumps in and nothing, absolutely nothing worked as well as us bringing the SafetyZone campaign to his school."
