Carl Zeiss Meditec expected to report revenue of approximately EUR 432m for the
first half of the current financial year

Jena/Germany 2 April 2012
Carl Zeiss Meditec AG [ISIN: DE0005313704) will report revenue of approximately
EUR 432m for the first half of the current financial year (1 October 2011 - 31
March 2012). This corresponds to an increase of about 15 % over the equivalent
period last year. Earnings before interest and tax are also expected to increase
compared with the previous year.

All the regions and strategic business units contributed to the gratifying
upturn in business. A key factor behind this significant increase in sales was
again the gratifying performance of the Microsurgery strategic business unit and
the dynamic growth in the Asia/Pacific region.

The final business figures will be announced in the 6 month report, scheduled
for publication on 15 May 2012.
