Metso to supply mineral processing equipment for Abhijeet Group's new iron ore plant in India

Metso will supply a complete set of mineral processing equipment for a
Greenfield iron ore beneficiation plant to be built in Saraikela district of
Jharkhand in Eastern India. The value of the complete plant on delivered basis
is some EUR 15 million.
Metso's delivery includes mining screens, magnetic separators, ball mills,
pressure filters and various sized slurry pumps. In addition to equipment
supplies, the scope includes plant design, engineering and supervision services.
Abhijeet Group's new iron ore processing plant will produce 1.2 million tons of
high-grade iron ore concentrate per year. The schedule of the new plant on
delivered basis will be 14 months and is scheduled for delivery completion by
March 2013. The order is included in Metso Mining and Construction first quarter
2012 orders received.
Abhijeet Group is a diversified business entity with significant presence in the
areas of power production, mining, road construction, and steel and ferroalloys
production. The company has plans to set up three new plants with a total steel
producing capacity of 10 million tons per year. The proposed plants will be
located in the states of West Bengal, Jharkhand and Maharashtra, India. The
annual turnover of Abhijeet Group of companies is approximately EUR 760 million.
Technical information
The total project delivery comprises one no. SRR series drum scrubber, one no.
MF series mining screen, one no. low intensity magnetic separator and high
gradient magnetic separator, one primary and one secondary ball mill for
grinding, two nos. VPA series vertical pressure filters and 14 nos. slurry pumps
of various sizes.
