Startup Developer Puts Players in Control to Create and Share Their Own Video Games

(firmenpresse) - SANTA CLARA, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 04/18/12 -- Blade Games World today announced it will take the stage at DEMO Spring 2012 to showcase Jumala, a free game creation destination where anyone can make and share 3D games with friends. Jumala was hand-selected from hundreds of applicants and will be presented to DEMO Spring 2012's influential audience on Thursday, April 19 at 10:22 a.m. PDT. Jumala blends game creation, play, and an interactive community into an immersive and enjoyable experience that is different for every player, every time.

Now available in beta for Windows 7, Vista, and Windows XP, Jumala makes building a game into a game itself. Anyone can design unique, visually stunning, 3D game experiences, even players with no technical skills. In Jumala, players earn rewards as they create and explore, ultimately unlocking powers to create more complex and interesting games. By creating games and collaborating with friends, players earn in-game currency redeemable in the Marketplace for thousands of new game creation content and interactive items. Jumala offers players incredible flexibility and fun as they imagine, build, and play their own ever-changing 3D experiences.

"Today's digital generation readily enjoys creating and sharing original content online and many would love to extend that experience to making their own games. However, current options restrict creativity, limit the environments, or are just too difficult to make it appealing," says Virl Hill, CEO of Blade Games World. "With Jumala, we're building an experience with unlimited potential while still making game creation fun and accessible to everyone. Jumala puts players in the driver's seat by providing them with a rich, intuitive online destination to create and share their own 3D games with friends."

Players design Jumala games using templates, such as a spooky marsh or an alien galaxy, or by copying and modifying games already built by the community. They can then share their games by sending links directly to their social networks and by publishing the game in the Jumala Arcade for the entire Jumala community to enjoy. Players can reshape the terrain, swap out game objects, change lighting and backgrounds, and even modify game play behaviors to create their own unique experience. Thousands of items are available to easily drop into game designs and more can be purchased in the Jumala Marketplace using their earned currency. Jumala also delivers a multi-faceted social experience by enabling players to find and play games created by other community members and earn rewards when their own games are played.

"The most innovative companies in video games know how to push the boundaries to deliver an entertainment experience that's unparalleled," says Matt Marshall, executive producer of DEMO. "But game creation has always been under the helm of professional developers only. Jumala is breaking down that barrier so that anyone can have fun creating and sharing their own gaming experience. They're taking the idea of 'social' gaming in an entirely new direction and we're excited to introduce them to the DEMO audience."

CEO Virl Hill and COO Jeff Hutt will introduce Jumala on the DEMO stage on Thursday, April 19 at 10:22 a.m. PDT. Jumala will also be available for preview in the DEMO Pavilion (station D7), April 18 - 19. For more information, visit .
