Leading Local Online Marketing Firm Leverages FlashArray to Accelerate Delivery of New Features and Services to Its Customers

(firmenpresse) - MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 04/18/12 -- Pure Storage, the all-flash enterprise storage company, today announced that Yodle, a leader in local online marketing, has deployed the Pure Storage FlashArray to support its quickly expanding customer base. The new solution has allowed Yodle to achieve an even more efficient rebuild process and to further improve service levels. The Pure Storage FlashArray has also enabled Yodle to run data analytics in their development environment.

When Yodle integrated the cost-effective Pure Storage FlashArray into their development environment, they shrunk their rebuild time from 24 hours to 3 and the process for running a QA environment build from 10 minutes to 1. With bandwidth to spare, Yodle could afford to virtualize its database environment and add a new, heavy computational workload to the infrastructure; the latency was constant at less than a millisecond.

"With our customer base continuing to accelerate, it was important to find a storage solution that allows us to run analytics and have a faster rebuild time without affecting their performance experience online," said John Merryman, chief technology officer, Yodle. "With the Pure Storage FlashArray, we are able to introduce analytics to our environment as well as add more workloads to the infrastructure without slowing it down. This solution works well for us because it enhances the ability for Yodle to keep innovating for customers quickly, while simultaneously delivering high service quality."

Benefits of Yodle's Pure Storage FlashArray deployment include:

Achieved 5-to-1 data reduction of postgres DB despite entirely new DB at every restore

Enabled Yodle to virtualize their database environment

Decreased the build/compile time for QA/test environment virtual machines by a factor of 10

"For businesses that are rapidly expanding, such as Yodle, FlashArray makes sense because it allows for faster processing and a better user experience while enabling virtualization to the fullest," said Matt Kixmoeller, vice president of products at Pure Storage. "The FlashArray is designed for performance and scalability to provide flexibility and convenience to our customers as they experience rapid innovation to enhance their products."
