The PMD program replaces Facebook's former Preferred Developer Consultant and Marketing API programs, introducing badges to represent specific developer distinctions. To qualify for a badge, companies had to prove their in-house capabilities for each category based on Facebook's pre-set requirements. These badges now signify developers that meet Facebook's qualifications within this ecosystem. Of the hundreds of companies around the world that applied for badge distinctions, only seven earned three badges or more.
