Dave Osborn Announced as Managing Director for Gemcom Africa
Veteran Gemcom Africa Executive to Lead Dynamic and Diverse Region
(firmenpresse) - JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA -- (Marketwire) -- 04/19/12 -- Gemcom Software International Inc., the largest global supplier of mining software solutions, today announced that Dave Osborn has been appointed managing director for the company's Africa business unit, providing strategic leadership for the region's market-leading and fast-growing operations. Mr. Osborn previously served as sales director for Gemcom Africa, a diverse and dynamic geographical area comprised of both emerging and long-time markets for mining software and services.

With over 14 years of experience in the mining technology field, Mr. Osborn holds a BSc Honours in Engineering Geology from the University of Natal along with an MBA from the Gordon Institute of Business Science, University of Pretoria. After completing his honours thesis, he began his career in 1998 with a sales role at Digital Mining Services. Before taking on the role of sales director for Gemcom Africa in 2007, he started Surpac Minex Africa in 2002 where he served as marketing director. Surpac Minex Group was acquired by Gemcom in 2006.
