Center Parcs' Ranger Wins Red Squirrel Survival Trust Award
Jerry Moss (Red Squirrel Ranger at Center Parcs) and His Family Have Just Won the Red Squirrel Survival Trust Volunteer of the Year Award as 'Red Squirrel Champions'. The Award Winners Were Announced on 30th March With the Award Ceremony Due to Take Place on 27th June at Alnwick Castle.

(firmenpresse) - LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwire) -- 04/20/12 -- Launched last year, the awards, which are supported by HRH The Prince of Wales, are designed to recognise and celebrate the efforts of the vast army of volunteers working around the country to protect our native red squirrels.
The RSST Award winners are decided through nomination followed by consideration of the RSST judging panel. There are 5 categories; Lifetime Achievement Award, Special Award, Leading Light, Red Squirrel Champion and Unsung Heroes. The Red Squirrel Champion Award honours those who have been on the front line of the practical action within red squirrel conservation, possibly for many years.
"We are delighted to be able to recognise the hard work of our volunteers with these awards," said Miles Barne, RSST Chairman. "There are an estimated 3,000 volunteers involved in red squirrel conservation throughout the UK, but the north of England is where the biggest battle is being fought. This work could not be achieved without the tireless efforts of our volunteers. Highlighting their contribution to red squirrel conservation is long overdue."
