The UK has already been hit by almost three inches of rainfall, with heavier downpours still to come in areas such as South-West England, with mid-air tornadoes being spotted in locations such as Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Lincolnshire, Manchester and East Anglia.(ii)

With forecasters predicting a month's worth of rain over the course of a few days, making this April the wettest on record, Swinton is offering the following advice to homeowners living in flood prone areas, to help minimise the impact of flood damage, should their homes be affected:
