New Products for Energy Efficient Buildings Based on ISO/IEC 14543-3-10 Optimized for Energy Harvesting Wireless

(firmenpresse) - SAN RAMON, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/02/12 -- Trend-setting energy harvesting wireless innovations and new products for energy efficient building and lighting control based on the new ISO/IEC 14543-3-10 standard will be showcased by EnOcean Alliance members at LIGHTFAIR International (LFI) 2012 at booth #612 in the Las Vegas Convention Center from May 9-11. The EnOcean Alliance is a non-profit organization of more than 250 companies primarily serving the building automation sector, providing a variety of energy harvesting lighting devices, including architectural controls, daylighting, dimmers, occupancy sensors, photo-sensors, relay panels and timer switches.

The EnOcean Alliance booth will host innovative solutions by Echoflex, Leviton, Adura, EnOcean, Lutuo, Illumra, and Verve Living Systems. In addition, Capital Review Group will be on hand to present its expertise in leveraging the benefits of 179D, the federal commercial building tax deduction, which is available to building owners when retrofitting their properties with energy efficient products such as those being presented by EnOcean Alliance members at LFI. All in all, more than 20 exhibitors will be showing EnOcean-based products at the trade fair.

At the booth, EnOcean will highlight the new ISO/IEC 14543-3-10 standard which is for wireless applications with ultra-low power consumption and the first and only wireless standard that is optimized for energy harvesting solutions. This international standard together with the EnOcean Equipment Profiles (EEPs) drawn up by the EnOcean Alliance provides the foundation for fully interoperable, open wireless technology comparable to standards such as Bluetooth and WiFi.

Adura, a leading provider of wireless lighting controls and energy management systems and a new member of EnOcean Alliance, will announce the Adura EnOcean Receiver, a new product that marries battery-free, wireless building controls to an intelligent, networked whole-building solution. Adura's networked lighting control system supports integration with EnOcean occupancy sensors and switches adding flexibility, scalability and adaptability to a building control system.

Also at the EnOcean Alliance booth, Echoflex will announce availability of its new Resonate Wave switches enabled with EnOcean technology. The new switches are available in black and white, providing a Euro-style switch for North American lighting solutions. In addition, Echoflex will unveil its Slim Line series of lighting controllers that integrate vacancy and daylighting applications into fixture-mounted controls. The latest version of Echoflex Garibaldi software that provides an easy-to-use interface for commissioning wireless products will also be on display.

"New trend-setting products geared to efficiently manage lighting are key to helping commercial building owners control electricity consumption, which can add up to about 40 percent of the total electricity consumed in a commercial structure," said EnOcean Alliance Chairman Graham Martin. "The innovative solutions EnOcean Alliance members are displaying this year are designed to reduce energy consumption as well as give users more control and flexibility in managing their lighting requirements whether new construction or the retrofitting older buildings for more efficient operations. Based on the new standard, the products provide a fully open and interoperable technology simplifying the planning and implementation of wireless sensor networks."

Leading companies worldwide from the building sector collected to form the EnOcean Alliance and establish innovative automation solutions for sustainable building projects -- and so to make buildings more energy-efficient, more flexible and lower in cost. The core technology of the Alliance is energy harvesting wireless technology for flexibly positioned and service-free sensor solutions. The EnOcean Alliance aims to internationalize the energy harvesting wireless technology, and is dedicated to creating interoperability between the products of OEM partners. Basis for this is the international standard ISO/IEC 14543-3-10, which is optimized for wireless solutions with ultra-low power consumption and energy harvesting. More than 250 companies currently belong to the EnOcean Alliance. The headquarters of the non-profit organization is located in San Ramon, California.
