Big Rock Brewery Inc. Announces 2012 First Quarter Financial Results
(firmenpresse) - CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/03/12 -- Big Rock Brewery Inc. (TSX: BR) ("Big Rock" or "the Brewery") announced its financial results today for the quarter ended March 31, 2012. The total volume of sales for the quarter ended March 31, 2012 was 47,567 hectolitres ("hl"), an increase of 13 percent compared to the first quarter in 2011.
Big Rock was able to increase sales for the quarter of its premium signature offerings, including the innovative beers introduced as part of the Brewmaster's Edition. Growth in sales volumes for the quarter also came from consumer-driven demand for value-priced brands.
Net income for the quarter ended March 31, 2012 was $0.1 million compared to a net loss of $26 thousand reported for the quarter ended March 31, 2011. Operating profit was $0.1 million compared to an operating loss of $7 thousand for the first quarter of 2011. The increased operating profit results largely from the higher sales volumes.
