Elisabeth Harstad and Bjorn Tore Markussen Join DNV KEMA Energy & Sustainability Global Leadership Team

Elisabeth Harstad, who will be based in Arnhem, the Netherlands, has joined DNV KEMA as Executive Vice President and Member of the Executive Board. Harstad will work directly with a number of DNV KEMA's business lines, as well as focusing on global research, development, innovation and knowledge management activities. Harstad has 25 years of experience in strategic management, line and project management, studies, reviews and design related to offshore as well as land based process related activities. Prior to joining DNV KEMA, Harstad was the managing director of DNV Research & Innovation, focusing on new knowledge and services.
Bjørn Tore Markussen, who will be based in Beijing, China, has joined DNV KEMA as Chief Operating Officer of the Asia Pacific Division. In this role, Markussen will be responsible for managing business and growth in the region, which presents great opportunity for DNV KEMA. Prior to this role with DNV KEMA, Markussen was the managing director for DNV`s Clean Technology Centre in South East Asia, leading the company's regional move into Liquefied Natural Gas, Carbon Capture & Storage, and green shipping as well as power and renewable industries. With over 20 years of industry experience, Markussen has held various senior management positions, including a role in management consulting for Cap Gemini Ernst & Young Norway.
