Zacuto Brings Home Awards From NAB 2012
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 05/04/12 -- Zacuto was recognized with two awards at this year's NAB convention that took place in Las Vegas April 16th-19th. The awards honored their new Recoil Technology and their brand new Plasma light.
Videomaker Magazine awarded the Zacuto Recoil Stabilizer a Best of NAB Show Award for Best Support. The Recoil mounts the camera directly on top of the shoulder and gives the camera operator the ability to shift the center of balance for the camera package.
Other pieces of equipment using the recoil technology introduced at NAB this year included the C300 Grip Relocator and Tornado. The C300 Grip Relocator puts essential functions like start/stop recording in the handgrip and the Tornada allows you to use a mechanical follow focus built-in to the handgrip. Both pieces create a more lightweight and compact camera package by eliminating the need for traditional counterbalances. DSLR camera users can achieve similar results with the USB Mini Controller in lieu of the C300 Grip Relocator.
Zacuto's Micro Plasma Light was honored with a BCPVA Video Innovation Award. According to Robin Christian, Writer/Director/Producer with , the new light sports over 30 patents on the Micro Plasma technology alone.
"This unique technology pushes an enormous amount of light from a light panel less than an inch thick. Unlike harsh LEDs, the Micro Plasma produces an even, soft output. Existing lights, including LEDs, force you to lose light output as they need to be diffused, bounced or have an umbrella attached to it. Plus, it's priced much lower than the competition," Christian stated. The Micro Plasma is also mercury-free, making it a green alternative. It's easy to see why this light was one of the most tweeted products at NAB.
