Fish & Richardson maintains its #1 position in patent and ITC litigation surveys
Munich, Germany/Boston, MA (February 4, 2009) - IP Law & Business, the leading intellectual property magazine has, for the fifth straight year, named Fish & Richardson (www.fr.com) the top patent litigation firm in the United States. In addition, Fish was named the top patent law firm for the world's most innovative companies and the largest IP Practice in the United States with 416 IP Practitioners.

The annual survey, which was published in July 2008, ranks firms by the volume of new patent cases filed. The magazine found that Fish & Richardson handles more patent litigation than any other law firm. Fish represented companies in one-third of all patent cases filed with the ITC in 2007.

"The World's Most Innovative Companies" is based on an annual survey conducted by BusinessWeek and The Boston Consulting Group. Based on this survey, IP Law & Business developed its "Who Protects Innovation" listing. To determine the rankings in its Patent Prosecution List, IP Law & Business listed the five firms that filed the most patent applications for each of the 50 companies from January to September 2008, and then computed the leaders. According to the survey, Fish & Richardson represents four of the top five most innovative companies in the world.
