Business Development and Operations Specialist to Drive New Business and Counsel Customers on Implementation, Execution of Mission-Critical Acquisition Programs


(firmenpresse) - CHANTILLY, VA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/07/12 -- AMERICAN SYSTEMS, a government IT solutions provider and one of the top 100 employee-owned companies in the U.S., today announced the appointment of John Manning to vice president of the company's Acquisition and Logistics Strategic Business Area. Mr. Manning will drive new business opportunities and lead AMERICAN SYSTEMS' professional management and advisory services practice for customers with large acquisition and supply chain programs.

Mr. Manning has over a decade of private sector experience in this industry, with particular strengths in acquisition program management and life cycle maintenance and management. Prior to joining AMERICAN SYSTEMS, Mr. Manning was Business Development Director for CDI Corporation, a global engineering and technology services organization. Prior to that, he held an executive sales position with Perot Systems.

Mr. Manning served his country for more than two decades before retiring from the Navy in 2001 while stationed as military staff at the Executive office of the President and his last sea tour as a Surface Warfare Officer was as Executive Officer aboard the USS Thorn (DD-988).

He earned masters degrees in Strategy and National Security Affairs from the U.S. Naval War College, in Public Administration from Troy State University and an undergraduate degree in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
