Registration Continues for Tri-Oswego 2012 Triathlon
(firmenpresse) - OSWEGO, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 05/11/12 -- Participants from throughout the US and Canada are preparing for the upcoming Tri-Oswego 2012 Triathlon, and registration for the event will continue until June 8th, according to Shane Broadwell, Tri-Oswego 2012 Triathlon Race Director.
"The rate at which participants are registering for this year's race is outstanding," said Broadwell. "We're seeing a lot of registrants from last year's Tri, as well as a number of first-time racers."
The event will be held Saturday, June 16th in Oswego, NY, along the shores of Lake Ontario.
According to Broadwell, the Tri committee anticipates this year's field will eclipse last year's total of 257 participants.
"With the success of last year's event, and with all of the new activities planned this year, we expect a huge turnout," Broadwell said.
The USA Triathlon sanctioned event will include a Sprint, Intermediate, and Sprint Relay Tri race once again this year, and will include a variety of other activities including a Health and Wellness Expo, Novelis Kids' Fun Run, Michelob Ultra Food and Beverage area, Youth Bicycle Rodeo, Zumba and Yoga for kids, US Army activities, Inflatable Bounce Houses, music, and more.
Tri-Oswego Registration fees for the Sprint Distance are 100.00 from May 1, 2012 - June 8, 2012. Registration fees for the Intermediate Distance are $115.00 from May 1, 2012 - June 8, 2012. Registration fees for the Sprint Distance Relay are $240.00 from May 1, 2012 - June 8, 2012.
Proof of USA Triathlon membership is required at registration. If you are not an annual USA Triathlon member, you must purchase a one-day membership. The cost is $5.00 for 17 and under and $10.00 for 18 and older.
