BioteQ Announces Board of Directors
(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/14/12 -- BioteQ Environmental Technologies Inc. (TSX: BQE), a leader in the treatment of industrial wastewater, announces the election of its 2012 Board of Directors. The election was held Thursday May 10th at the Company's Annual General Meeting in Vancouver.
Directors re-elected to the Board are C. Bruce Burton, independent businessman; Dr. Christopher Fleming, Senior Metallurgical Consultant with SGS Minerals; Clement Pelletier, CEO of Rescan Environmental; Dr. George Poling, Professor Emeritus UBC; Ronald Sifton, independent businessman; and Jonathan Wilkinson, CEO of BioteQ. The Board is joined by new Board member, Peter Gleeson. Mr. Gleeson has extensive experience in executive management, investment fund analysis, and board advisory roles for the technology and mining sectors, with specializations in corporate finance and contract negotiation.
The Board elected Dr. George Poling as the Chairman of the Board. Dr. Poling stated, "BioteQ would like to extend warm thanks to Kelvin Dushnisky and David Kratochvil. Mr. Dushnisky stepped down from the Board this year due to his extensive workload commitments at Barrick Gold. We thank Kelvin for his valuable contributions to BioteQ. Dr. Kratochvil has stepped down from the Board to reduce the Board size. At the same time, we welcome Mr. Peter Gleeson to the Board. His experience and industry connections provide BioteQ with a valuable resource to help accelerate the Company's growth."
Other business transacted at the AGM included receipt of the Company's financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2011, and the re-appointment of PricewaterhouseCoopers as the Company's auditors.
