KCG Granted 3PAO Status Under GSA FedRAMP Program
Company to Perform Security Assessments for Cloud Service Providers
(firmenpresse) - RESTON, VA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/15/12 -- Knowledge Consulting Group (KCG), the leading provider of cybersecurity services to the federal government and commercial organizations, today announced that it has been accredited as a Third Party Assessment Organization (3PAO) under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA). As a FedRAMP accredited 3PAO, KCG is authorized to perform security assessments for Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) seeking FedRAMP provisional authorization.
"Cloud computing enables the federal government to realize cost savings and economies of scale but requires greater diligence by both the federal government and cloud providers in securing the critical information assets," said Dusty Wince, Chief Executive Officer of KCG.
FedRAMP provides a standard approach to security in the federal cloud environment, enabling CSPs to be approved once and then provisioned government-wide, rather than having each agency assess security individually. Under the program, CSPs must demonstrate that their information systems meet security requirements through an approved third-party assessment.
