W2O Group Names Tom Pierce Chief Operating Officer
Move Reflects Strong Growth, Prospects for Newly Formed Network
(firmenpresse) - SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/17/12 -- W2O Group, an independent network of complementary marketing, communications, content, analytics, and developmental firms, announced today that it has hired Tom Pierce in the newly created role of chief operating officer. The appointment reflects the growth and dimensionalization of the newly formed network, which includes noted integrated communications and marketing firms, WCG and Twist and an investment and next practice company, W2O Ventures.
In his new position, Pierce will oversee the Human Resources, Information Technology, corporate services and facilities functions. He also will liaise with key team members to lead and execute the company's vision and new practices by organizing and putting in place the plans, people, systems and processes necessary to drive operational excellence across the firm.

With 20 years of experience in finance and operations, Pierce provides the expertise to steer the business' continuing growth. He joins W2O from BDO Consulting in New York, where he served as the director of operations and finance. In that position, he oversaw all aspects of financial reporting, developed and tracked financial forecasts, and defined budgets for all practice areas and specific projects. He also served as a member of the firm's National IT Advisory Committee, identifying hardware and software needs and serving as liaison with the IT department to provide input into the firm's initiatives. His responsibilities also included directing and prioritizing all of the firm's resources, which included working in partnership with the HR department to provide input and direction on staff assignments and utilization.
Prior to BDO Consulting, Pierce was a senior executive at Marsh Inc., a subsidiary of the Marsh & McLennan Companies. His previous positions include financial and operational roles at GCI Group and Booz & Company. Pierce's experience demonstrates deep knowledge of developing business targets and forecasts and identifying investments in emerging industries. Pierce has been instrumental in the creation and implementation of reporting dashboards to revise outdated methods of reporting throughout his career. His improvement in advanced reporting methods and tools resulted in enhanced business planning and analysis. As a proven results-driven leader, Pierce brings to W2O a strong background in all aspects of financial and operational business expertise.
