Blue Gold Appoints VP, Exploration
(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/23/12 -- Blue Gold Mining Inc. (TSX VENTURE: BGX) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Scott Heffernan to its management team as Vice President, Exploration.
Scott is a registered professional geologist with 15 years of hands-on exploration and management experience focused on the Cordillera of North and South America. Prior to joining Blue Gold, he held the dual positions of Vice President, Exploration for Wealth Minerals Ltd., and Exploration Manager, Argentina for Cardero Resource Corporation (2007-2012). From 2003 to 2007 Scott was with Equity Exploration Ltd., a Vancouver-based consulting and contracting firm specializing in turn-key geological project management.
Scott has designed and implemented multi-million dollar exploration programs that have led to several significant gold and base metal discoveries including the porphyry-related Tide project in northwest British Columbia.
Scott received his B.Sc. (Geology) from the University of Alberta and completed his M.Sc. (Geological Sciences) with the Mineral Deposit Research Unit (MDRU) and the Pacific Centre for Isotopic and Geochemical Research at the University of British Columbia.
Blue Gold has granted five year incentive options to purchase an aggregate of 200,000 shares at a price of $0.54 per share. The options will be subject to certain vesting requirements.
