Innovative Design Offers a New Level of Capability and Convenience in Precision Weighing
(firmenpresse) - SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/29/12 -- A & D Weighing announces the launch of the Ion Series of laboratory balances, including A&D's first two microbalances with one microgram readability (1 millionth of a gram). The six models have combined innovations such as a large weighing chamber, ionizer to eliminate static and increase weighing accuracy, and other standard features and accessories to provide a complete precision weighing solution.
To achieve microgram-level resolution, yet still provide a large weighing chamber, A&D developed an innovative dual-ring breeze break, making a secondary (inner) breeze break unnecessary.
Static electricity seriously degrades precision weighing, especially at the microgram level. Static control is so important, the fan-less direct current (DC) ionizer offers superior performance and is built-in and standard on all models. It removes static from weigh boats and laboratory containers including glassware, which become charged just from normal handling. With no fan, static in fine powders is neutralized without the risk of them blowing away.
Environmental factors also affect precision weighing. The Ion Series has built-in sensors to monitor temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure. The included AD-1688 Data Logger captures these parameters plus weighing results and can continuously log data over a 24-hour period without a PC. The software tool developed by A&D then helps users evaluate their actual weighing environment.
The two microbalances, BM-20 and BM-22, also include dedicated filter weighing pans. These find use in weighing particulate matter filters, common in auto emissions testing.
