Variable tariffs change price in line with the cost of energy, meaning that rates could rise or fall. Fixed tariffs remain at the same rate for a fixed term, giving consumers peace of mind. EnergySmart™
EnergySmart,™ a British Gas energy-saving initiative, can be added to any of the variable and fixed tariffs. It includes simple online graphs and tools to help consumers track and reduce their energy usage. Customers also receive a free electricity monitor, which shows exactly how much energy their appliances are using - in real time. By showing where and how energy is used around the home, the monitor will help homeowners to manage their consumption. Consumers will also be able to submit their own meter readings, meaning they will only pay for what they actually use.
Free Home Insulation
In order to help consumers make the most of the heat they pump into their homes, British Gas is currently offering free loft and cavity wall insulation. By insulating their property, homeowners will ensure they stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer. By reducing the amount of heat that escapes from a building, insulation will also help consumers to see significant savings on their energy bills, year after year. This fantastic offer is open to both new and existing British Gas customers, for a limited time only.
Warm Home Discount Scheme
The Warm Home Discount Scheme is a 4-year programme, run in conjunction with the government, that provide rebates on the electricity bills of UK households that need it most. Low-income households and those claiming pensions or disability allowance can claim a one-off benefit of GBP 120 (inclusive of VAT) to be credited to their electricity account.
