Biogas Nord AG is erecting its 1st biogas upgrade plant in France.

Bielefeld, 04. June 2012. Biogas Nord AG, the leading supplier of
innovative and customized energy solutions in the field of biogas
technology, is completing its 1st biogas plant in France producing
electrical power. Simultaneously Biogas Nord has started the construction
of the first biogas plant in France producing upgraded gas to be injected
to the public network.
The plant 'Chaumes-en-Brie' will generate a biogas output of 1200 kW/h.
After three years of negotiations with the authorities and legislative
procedures in France, the two Quaak brothers, the owners of the plant, have
succeeded to convince the French authorities to introduce a special feed-in
tariff for biogas and to obtain the building permit for the construction of
the 1st biogas plant to generate clean gas in France.
The plant is the 1st one of its kind in France and will be based mainly on
food waste and manure. The construction of the plant started in late May
2012, and the plant is expected to start generating clean gas in October
2012.
