New Application Makes Finding Local and Cloud-Based Files Simple and Intuitive

Found is an incredibly simple and intuitive desktop app available to Mac users who need to locate and access all of their important documents and files instantly from one easy-to-use interface.
Cloud-based services for professional and personal use have improved and expanded significantly over the past few years. However, search has not evolved to meet today's multi-service and multi-device reality despite being a core pain point for users.
"One of the benefits of cloud-based services is greater accessibility of your files and documents -- I can login in from anywhere and get to my Web email and online documents," says Stephen Brady, CEO and co-founder of Found Software. "Unfortunately, the more cloud-based services I adopt, the more my files become fragmented across multiple services and accounts, making them more difficult to find. Found on the Mac is our first step to giving the user the power to re-integrate all of their stuff so it is all searchable and accessible from one place."
With Found installed, a user can call up the Found "Palette" (user interface) on their Mac at any time with a double tap of the control key. PDFs, pictures, documents, spreadsheets, and more, whether stored locally or in the cloud, all become immediately available at the user's fingertips by typing just a few characters in Found.
Accompanying each search result is an instant, full-sized preview, giving the user immediate feedback and the ability to review a file's contents without having to open it in an application. Double clicking a result takes the user to the original source on the Web or opens the file in the relevant app locally.
Moving files across platforms is often cumbersome, but with Found, users can drag and drop files, including files in a cloud-based service like Gmail, from one place to another in seconds without having to download and then upload to another account.
Found's public release and availability on the Mac App Store follows a successful private preview release earlier this Spring. As Found evolves, the app will incorporate a variety of other personal and enterprise cloud services, such as Evernote, to be the simplest, most intuitive way to search and access all of your stuff in one unified experience.
