Arizona's Largest Vision Care Provider Now Offers the Advanced Visian ICL Lens for Correcting Nearsightedness
(firmenpresse) - PHOENIX, AZ -- (Marketwire) -- 06/06/12 -- Nationwide Vision Centers -- Arizona's largest provider of vision care services with 64 locations statewide -- has expanded its surgical team and treatment options with the addition of refractive and ophthalmic surgeon Daniel Peters, M.D.
Dr. Peters is a board-certified ophthalmologist with more than 20 years of clinical, research and ophthalmic surgical experience. Upon completing his ophthalmology residency in 1991, he served as Chief of Ophthalmology at Fairchild Air Force Base near Spokane, Washington. After leaving the military for private practice in 1995, he was a co-investigator for the clinical trial that won final US FDA approval for LASIK. To date, he has performed more than 30,000 LASIK and PRK procedures, and has received several US patents for ophthalmic laser devices.
In addition to specializing in LASIK, Dr. Peters has utilized the latest FDA approved multi-focal and accommodative lenses since the late 1990s. Since 2007, he has also used the Visian ICL (Implantable Collamer® Lens) approved for treating moderate to severe nearsightedness.
Dr. Peters uses the ICL to provide patients with superior vision, even for those deemed poor candidates for LASIK due to high prescriptions, thin corneas and/or other vision disorders.
