ALALEH releases her new EP "We Are Alive"
German neurologist sings about freedom
Alaleh(firmenpresse) - With her EP „We Are Alive“, Alaleh presents her second release after „Memories“.
All four songs on this new EP are characterized by English lyrics in the genre of pop and world music. While her first album “Memories” stayed close to the original titles with its Persian lyrics and music-wise, the new EP shows only a few elements of the original compositions. With this, Alaleh continues her cross-project idea of building a bridge between Orient and Occident.
The songs of “We Are Alive” are a protest against bondage and censorship, where human rights are disregarded. With this musical protest, Alaleh always keeps her typical confidence.

There is a lot of energy in Alaleh’s clear and bright voice. Alaleh’s music is versatile – just like her life. Very early in her life, she had to experience what bondage means in connection with freedom of speech and culture in her homeland in Teheran. When she was 7 years old, musical schools were closed, under the new regime music was forbidden and musical instruments were confiscated. When her family flew to Germany, she was 13 years old and became German citizen. She continued to play the piano. After school she began her studies of human medicine.
After her professional training as a neurologist, Alaleh started do take singing lessons. In May 2011, she released her debut album “Memories”, sung in Persian language, under her own music label Alaleh-Music. Parallel to this she is working as neurologist, scientist and college lecturer.
Despite her escape and her professional evolvement in medicine, Alaleh’s desire for freedom remains the same. With her artistic aesthetics she turns against the unaesthetic form of bondage and lack of freedom. “When I sing, I feel endless freedom,” says Alaleh.
