Hunt Construction Group in a Joint Venture With Hardin Construction Co. to Build Upscale Convention Hotel in Downtown Austin, Texas
(firmenpresse) - INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- (Marketwire) -- 06/07/12 -- Hunt Construction Group and Hardin Construction Company (Hunt-Hardin) have been selected as the joint venture firm for the construction of a 33-story, upscale convention hotel in downtown Austin, Texas.
The hotel -- to be located on Austin's prominent Congress Avenue and destined to become one of the largest developments in downtown Austin's history -- is a development of White Lodging Services Corporation, a hotel development, ownership and management company based in Merrillville, Ind.
The development will include a 1,012-room JW Marriott hotel and a three-story underground parking garage. Site work for the project is scheduled to start in June, followed by construction of the garage, beginning in early August, then the hotel. When complete, the new hotel will become the world's largest (number of rooms) JW Marriott.
The architect of record is HKS, Inc. of Dallas, TX.
