Local Teacher Wins TruStone's Best in Class Contest
(firmenpresse) - PLYMOUTH, MN -- (Marketwire) -- 06/08/12 -- Nicole Jensen, first grade teacher at Delano Elementary School recently won the Best in Class Facebook contest held by TruStone Financial Federal Credit Union. Beginning with Teacher Appreciation Week, people were asked to nominate a teacher or classroom for a chance to win a gift card of $500. Many well-deserving teachers were nominated. Four were selected as finalists and after more than 2,200 total votes were cast, Jensen was declared the winner on May 31. Jensen is very excited to purchase extra tools for her classroom that wouldn't otherwise be covered by the school's budget. "Teaching is such a wonderful profession," said Jensen. "I feel truly honored to have been nominated, and to be a teacher." The contest ran from May 7th through May 30th.
Bobbie Kunkel, kindergarten teacher at Sioux Trail Elementary School in Burnsville came in a very close second place. As the runner-up, she received a $100 gift card. "I feel honored to have had the opportunity to be nominated. We are so lucky to have the BEST profession in the world! We have little eyes watching us each day and we provide them with the foundation for life-long learning," remarked Kunkel.
