Audi R8 GRAND-AM results continue to improve
APR Motorsport Team and Drivers push hard in Detroit
Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is the next challenge for APR Motorsport
The APR Motorsport Audi R8 GRAND-AM showed fans a glimpse of what the race car is capable of at the GRAND-AM Detroit 200 last week. Dr. Jim Norman, race car driver for the #51 Audi R8 GRAND-AM, lead GT teams with the fastest lap in the early practice session. The team also qualified 4th in the GT Class of the GRAND-AM Rolex Series, its highest position since the start of the season, and led a portion of race with strong driving by Dion von Moltke. APR Motorsport is poised to continue this trend for the EMCO Gears Classic at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this weekend.
"Our APR Audi R8 Grand-Am has been improving, thanks to the support of Parathyroid.com, PR Newswire, and South African Airways, and I hope that trend will continue this weekend," said von Moltke. "Mid-Ohio is a very different track from Belle Isle. There are a lot of elevation changes and the track is relatively smooth, so it will challenge the engineers as well as the drivers this weekend to adapt with only a few days' break. There is always a lot of really tight battling around Mid-Ohio so I cannot wait to get back to racing this weekend."
The EMCO Gears Classic at Mid-Ohio Sports Car course will be broadcast live on Saturday, June 9th, at 4:30 PM ET on SPEED Channel.
